Area events that aren't to be missed include the Rain or Shine Jazz Festival in February, Shorebird Festival in April, Grays Harbor Discovery Days in May, Aberdeen Splash Festival July 4th, Westport chainsaw Carving in July, Loggers' Play Day in September, Sand Castle Contest in Ocean Shores in September, Grayland Cranberry Festival in October, and the Montesano Festival of Lights in December.

Also in Aberdeen and neighboring Hoquiam, be sure not to miss the 7th Street Theater, a lavish vaudeville-era 1,100 seat theater which hosts a variety of entertainment throughout the year. The Arnold Polson Museum - 26 room mansion filled with antiques and area history. Hoquiam Timberland Library - a 1911 Carnegie Building. Viewing Tower - overlooking the Port and Harbor at 28th Street. Farmers Market and Riverside Walkway - one of only two Washington Farmers Markets open year round. Olympic Stadium - circa 1935 wooden stadium. Aberdeen Museum of History - showcases early logging industry and the founding of Aberdeen. Lady Washington/Aberdeen Landing - home to the Lady Washington, a replica of an 18th-century square rigger.

Fourteen nautical miles away are fifty miles of un-crowded Pacific Ocean Beaches. Forest Service recreation facilities are within twenty miles and Olympic National Park, Lake Quinault, and Quinault Rain Forest are less than an hour north.
